50 years after independence, and Malaysia is still far from maturing in its political scene despite the recent rise of the opposition parties to usurp a significant fraction of the political power from the ruling coalition in the 12th General Elections held merely 20 days ago.
Evidences? After being defeated in 5 states (technically 6, or HALF of the Federation of Malaysia, if the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur is considered as one separate administrative entity), the offices were left totally empty, or messed up in at least 2 of the states (Penang and Selangor). Does that mean they are trying to hide some potential evidences that would threaten their very existence?
The double standards of the police force also shows how immature the government is. After 50 years in power they still do not know the gist of serving the country - it's about the people, not the empowered class. Just read the history textbooks on how ignorance in this aspect led to the downfall of how many empires in the past.
