FINALLY! Malaysia is finally seeing new hope in the future following an unprecedented defeat of the ruling coalition in large parts of the country. Although some results are not yet officially announced (but I guess by the time anyone reads this it would have been), so far 5 states are in the hands of the opposition.
Expected is Kelantan. Not so surprised is Kedah. Unexpected are Penang and Perak. Totally unexpected is Selangor, which has been always a stronghold for the ruling coalition, my home state, the most modernized and developed state in Malaysia are falling into the hands of the opposition.
What is even more soothing to the eye, is reading up about the loss of S.V in his S. Siput seat. Happy Birthday and may this wonderful present accompany you towards your grand retirement.
Well, this is just the new beginning. Now it's time to clean up some dirts that has accumulated over five decades in this country. Malaysia definitely needs a new look. Way to go!
Please also do cherish the opportunity given. You might not get the same level of support next time round. It would not be easy, but this is a good start to pave a path towards maturity in the Malaysian democracy.
I still believe in democracy. I still do. :)
水亦能载舟,亦能覆舟。这个道理也未免还没有在马来西亚的政治前景完全消失。 Labels: Politics |
