The last time I did this was 4 years ago, during my JC2 when I was trying to strike a balance between my academics and other commitments (which was primarily choir for SYF).
Now I am doing it again. What are the similarities?
First and foremost, it is the final year and final semester for the course.
And the similarity unfortunately has to end here. And what are the differences?
4 years ago, I kept to a very strict self-discipline my daily schedule. On the evenings when my brain does not function properly (especially after choir practices), I could get to the bed by 10 am and wake up at 3 or 4 am to finish up my tutorials for the next day at least.
Now? I guess the days of such raging fire to excel has been long gone. As long as 10 metres. Don't think I can ever discipline myself to such standard anymore. Staying up at 3 or up to 4 am is becoming the norm, but that does not mean the productivity is always at its zenith. At much times it is plain procrastination. This is by no means an easy enemy. Most of the time I'll just let myself succumb to the temptations, or even restrict my resistance at the lowest possible value towards procrastination. And before you realize, another day has gone. And you complain.
Haha I guess this is analogous to one complaining he/she is getting fat while at that very moment he/she is still munching something in his/her mouth.
In Chinese, there are 2 words entirely suitable to describe such behaviour.
堕落 犯贱 |
if your behaviour is duo luo n fan jian, then mine is what?...wu2 ke3 jiu4 yao4 liao...
