This is way way way behind schedule but it is still the first post of the year 2009, as well as the 500th post of this blog.
And so ended the long and dramatic 2008, followed by the ever more challenging year of 2009.
The year that has past... is a year of the Rat. Being the very year of my own (same as the year I was born in), this year was predicted to be, and proven to be an unpleasant year for me. Many major changes in my life has happened, and although there are pleasant moments, I guess overall they are ultimately still overwhelmed by the unpleasant and unwanted incidents.
Here goes the summary:
April - Submitted the Final Report for my FYP
May - End of my examinations, End of my first round of education life, End of campus life. Beginning of a new chapter of my life - in the Tomato New Town.
June - No one would understand how badly I wanted to participate and perform at a concert, but I guess sometimes life is also about making choices and choosing one's own path to go for.
July - Commencement Ceremony, Interview for job
August - Joining the Workforce for the first time in my life
September - Promotion of immigration status to PR, met HC for the last time
October 7 - Departure of my dear guinea pig (the one in this blog's profile picture)
October 14 - Departure of HC
I do not think any of the more pleasant events above would be grand enough to override the effect of my close friend's departure. 6 years of solid friendship, and up till now I could still feel her presence especially during the outing with the same bunch of friends. Above all, I am also using the phone number that she once used. So in a way, I feel like she's always around me.
I dont think our friendship will end just here. She'll continue live in our hearts. Forever as a good friend. Rest in peace, HC. I guess you should have settled down pretty well by now. Let me know your whereabouts through my dream some day, perhaps? We all miss you dearly =)
Approaching quarter-life crisis in the new year, but I guess this time I might have the chance to beat it as I have recently regained a slightly stronger tinge of motivation from both of my career supervisors. Will try to make this new year a pleasant one.
Meanwhile, have a happy, fulfilling, exciting and enjoyable new year, everyone :) :)
