Zu Hause Zu Sein
Not a single word in any single natural language in this world could be used to describe the feelings of being at home. Especially those who stayed abroad for a certain amount of time, or those who are not staying at home now would completely understand what I mean.

And yes, I have not been doing much since coming back other than sleeping a lot and watching 2 world cup matches. The most recent one being Italy vs Australia. But nevermind. haha... not talking about soccer here anyway.

And it feels reaaaaal gooooooood to drive~! After so many months not driving, my driving skills still hasnt deproved to any extent. Muahahaa... and its about time to convert my probationary license to competent license! 2 years. Haha

Made a call to Germany last night before going to Mamak and watch the Italian match cos it was my host mother - Rita's birthday! She still remembers me and was surprised that I called. Had a brief chat with her and she said my German is still good. hahaha... luckily I can still be understood. lol

Thats all for the update.

Can't Wait
For? Haha.... for me to know, for you to find out. There are actually 2 can't waits - 1 a short-term can't wait, 1 a relatively longer term can't wait.
And 1 week from now, it'll be Rita's (my German host mother) birthday! I better come up with something by tomorrow.
For those interested to know the translation of the French part of the song "I Believe in You" bi Il Divo and Celine Dion, here goes:
Tout seul
Tu t'en iras tout seul
Coeur ouvert
À L'univers
Poursuis ta quête
Sans regarder derrière
N'attends pas
Que le jour
Se lève
Suis ton étoile
Va jusqu'où ton rêve t'emporte
Un jour tu le toucheras
Si tu crois si tu crois si tu crois
En toi

Suis la lumière
N'éteins pas la flamme que tu portes
Au fonds de toi souviens-toi
Que je crois que je crois que je crois
En toi

Here goes the English translation, thanks to Ding Ying. Merci beaucoup!

All alone
you will go on your way all alone
Heart opened
to the universe
Pursue your quest
Without looking back
Don't wait
For the day to arise
Follow your star
Go where your dream takes you
One day you will touch it
If you believe, if you believe, if you believe
in yourself

Follow the light
Don't put off the flame that you carry
In your bottom of your heart, remember
That i believe, that i believe, that i believe in you

After reading this translation, please send a message to Ding Ying and thank her. I mean it okay.
Its wonderful isnt it. See how good the lyrics and the music of the song were written. I find it so meaningful and it is something worth to be shared.
Pursue your quest without looking back, don't wait for the day to arise. Well said, isn't it? Determination is the exact word to coin here i guess. And recently I found another word which is usually used in a derogatory sense, but it is essential to a certain extent to achieve something.
Stubbornness. Like a buffalo.
That is what is with the world reknowned scientists before they became Nobel Laureates or discovered new theories or applications that have changed our lives throughout history. None of them I believe, achieve something with just one tiny witsy little bitsy try. It takes hard work, determination and stubborness to succeed. Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Benjamin Franklin, Rosalind Franklin... and the list goes on.
And of course, the most important factor of all
Self Confidence (Selbstvertrauen)
"Believe in yourself, and others will believe in you,"
as quoted from South Park The Movie: Bigger, Longer and Uncut.

Il Divo
ACHTUNG: The introduction below features songs of Operatic Pop Genre. If you do not enjoy Classical songs, please do not comment that it sucks. Please respect what others appreciate.

Lately I have been finding enjoyment in listening songs of Il Divo, a male quartet, each from Spain, Switzerland, France and the US. The songs they have been singing are mostly in Spanish (i think). Listen to the powerful vocal they use as they sing. This, a new genre of songs called Operatic Pop has been created. 2 of them are Tenors, 1 Baritone and 1 Vox Populi (He sings most of the melody i guess) . Their genre is similar to that of Josh Groban, who is most likely a Baritone i think.

The 2 songs I attached to my player here are "samples" for your entertainment.

I Believe In You (Je Crois En Toi) Il Divo lyrics

Artist: Il Divo
Album: Ancora
Year: 2005
Title: I Believe In You (Je Crois En Toi) with Celine Dion

Lonely
The path you have chosen
A restless road
No turning back
One day you
Will find your light again
Don't you know
Don't let go
Be strong

Follow you heart
Let your love lead through the darkness
Back to a place you once knew
I believe, I believe, I believe
In you

Follow your dreams
Be yourself, an angel of kindness
There's nothing that you cannot do
I believe, I believe, I believe
In you

Tout seul
Tu t'en iras tout seul
Coeur ouvert
À L'univers
Poursuis ta quête
Sans regarder derrière
N'attends pas
Que le jour
Se lève
Suis ton étoile
Va jusqu'où ton rêve t'emporte
Un jour tu le toucheras
Si tu crois si tu crois si tu crois
En toi

Suis la lumière
N'éteins pas la flamme que tu portes
Au fonds de toi souviens-toi
Que je crois que je crois que je crois
En toi

Someday I'll find you
Someday you'll find me too
And when I hold you close
I'll know that is true
Follow your heart
Let your love lead through the darkness
Back to a place you once knew
I believe, I believe, I believe in you

Follow your dreams
Be yourself, an angel of kindness
There's nothing that you cannot do
I believe, I believe, I believe
In you (x3)

Sorry for the French part. Speak no French so need time to translate. or anyone who knows French out there can help?
*hint hint
*wink wink

The second song, Regresa A Mi which is the Spanish version of Unbreak My Heart first sung by Toni Braxton, will be featured in the next entry. Stay tuned!

Holiday
As opposed to most other students that belong to the same tertiary institution that I am currently in, my holiday has just only begun after 6 weeks. Ah yes, strictly speaking of course.
What does a holiday mean?
In early primary school, holiday means holiday assignments, loads of holiday assignments, and loads of holiday assignments to finish - last minute.
In the higher primary level, holiday means holiday assignments, load of holiday assignments and racing with classmates to finish up all the holiday assignments as soon as they were distributed - usually one or two weeks before the actual commencement of holidays.
This is the life one would get if he was from a Chinese-medium School.
In lower secondary school, holiday means no assignments, time to play so crazily until one still can afford to hack care of all other assignments when the school reopens.
Now that, was the National Secondary School.
In higher secondary level, holiday means assignments, tonnes of holiday assignments, compulsory remedial classes and they are just sometimes 'unfinishable'.
In pre-university level, holiday means common tests after the holidays, and common tests and the end of every week. In the first year one would be assigned to do Project Work, which will be graded and considered for University admission.
Eh, isn't this some kind of resemblance and remind you of something just mentioned above?
What does holiday actually mean?
Soon I am sure, it will be --- The Relaxation Time

Arrangement... In Progress
It is really exciting arranging your own style of song! But it is definitely not easy muahaha. Now taking some kind of break and side tracking a bit to rejuvenate a little.
And finally, got a hang of using this software to arrange own songs. Sibelius 3. Initially found it not very user-friendly. But as I got hold of it I find it quite okay la actually. Very neat and systematic indeed.
Alright, back to work. At least got something to do in the holidays rather than rotting, rotting and growing mushrooms.
P/S: By the way, only left the last lab report to complete. So if you wonder why I have the mood to arrange songs, yeah I am quite sick of them already.

Of Excitement and Inspiration
Well needless to say its been aeons since my last blog. Haha.... since the Humpty Dumbty fall there got a lil depressed so there's nothing much to blog about. But my momentum and inspiration has been back ever since I attended the Camp A Cappella! on Saturday.
Haha it was from the camp that I finally found my inspiration to try arranging my own A Cappella piece. I know the arrangement will be yucky coz its my maiden piece anyway, but no harm trying. It is through trying that one improves himself. Overall the camp was fun although I personally feel there should actually be an age-ceiling to the camp. But I guess we cannot expect too much since it is labelled as 'for beginners'. Anyway I did learn something about arranging a cappella version of songs (just scratching the surface tho). Well see what comes out of my crappy brain and laughable musical inclination.
Argh what have I been saying all this while. Suddenly so serious hehe. Well my cousins from Melaka came down during the weekend for a visit. And I have been very excited for unknown reasons since I found out that I should be expecting a niece in this coming November! It's been a looooooong time since my big family has a baby girl. In fact, in one generation below me, there isn't any girls yet.
Anyway, time to get back to muggz. Oral Exams for a Lab Module. Ever heard of that? Muahaha
