破财挡灾
Is this true? Well let's hope that things happened for a reason. :) Won't wanna elaborate too much about it, life goes on and just hope that we learn from each experience in life.

Keeping Contact with My Languages
Meeting a new Hungarian-German friend today in Singapore have proven to me the point very solidly that I should embark on a German language course soon - to keep in touch with the language, but on my own financial merits.

My current target of enrolment is:

Term 5: 13 October 2008 - 21 December 2008

Duration: 10 weeks

Teaching Units: 1 lesson of 3 hours (4 units of 45 minutes per unit) per week

Desired Level: B2 or C1

Target Certificates: Goethe Zertifikat B2 by May 2009 or Goethe Zertifikat C1 (exact date unknown)

Projected Costs: S$390 Course Fee + S$40 Materials Fee + S$40 for an automatic membership of Goethe Association

Whoever wants to join me, feel free. San Min, if you are reading this, I assume that you are in. Haha...

Contemplation: Status of the Blog 2
Just one side point after I clicked the Publish button:

3. Retain the open status of this blog, but write my privacy-intended entries in another language. Some form of encryption I should say, but nonetheless would work if not many people around you understands that language. Downside is? I have a learn an exotic language. Haha.. there's an obvious choice, but I don't know where to obtain the learning source in Singapore. And it takes time to develop to the freely expressive level.

So probably not a wise short term solution. Probably ethanol is a better solvent.

Contemplation: Status of the Blog
Currently the status of this blog is open to the public: Whoever wants to read my entries can read all of them.

I have long realized the risks this poses to my privacy. By keeping it open, I have to keep my entries generally politically correct so as to avoid any unwanted open confrontations.

But recent emotional turmoils have led me to reconsider this option over and over again. I know that this blog of mine isn't that great anyway and I wonder how many of those who knows the existence of my blog actually reads this faithfully. If you really do, I truly appreciate that. As sometimes certain comments might not be appropriate for certain audiences to read through, I am now considering 2 options:

1. Switch the status of this blog to "Invited readers only". The downside of this blog is that I have to register every single intended readers and those who have since a while ago not keeping up with my posts would not comprehend what happened.

2. Open up a private blog somewhere else. And maintain them concurrently. Well actually I do have another blog somewhere but haha... there's no way anyone would know. And trying this blog made me learnt that it is difficult to maintain more than one blog actually.

Suggestions? Feel free to drop a word. So I can roughly know who are the faithful readers too. :D

Facing it and Accepting it
It just hurts every time I have to come to terms to face it. I feel so helpless and useless, but there is really nothing more I can do other than giving my best wishes.

A few months have passed, and till now I still have some difficulties facing the fact.

Sometimes I wish I could really help. But what I can do is so limited.

I know it is a little inappropriate for me to pen down such thoughts here knowing that the person concerned would read this, but I really have no where else to put it. So Sorry about it. And I never had the courage to talk to you face to face about it.

Meanwhile, live well okay? We are always by your side, giving our neverending support in this long battle.

Dreams
When I was still young, I dreamt of being a scientist. A respected Nobel laureate.

Now, it is still a dream.

When I was in primary school, I dreamt of being able to use newly bought books.

(You would understand this feeling better probably if you are also a middle child. Certain feelings cannot be described by words but if you know what I mean, you know. If you don't, you simply won't understand.)

Now, it has become a past. Something that I let go alongside as my childhood passed.

When I was in secondary school, I dreamt of being able to play in a Symphony or Military Band.

And till now it remains only a dream.

When I came over to Singapore, I dreamt of having a big bunch of good friends who always share all the ups and downs, doing crazy things all the while. A group that I feel a sense of belonging.

After 4 years, it remained a dream.

After 7 years, it appears to have realized, but my other commitments give the circumstances and opportunities away.

After 8 years, this dream finally comes true. And I have found my passion in Arts .

And as new dreams appear, your passion flourishes.

Now, I dream of being able to form a professional singing group with my bunch of vocal colleagues, and we'll have lots of fun entertaining our eager audiences.

Now, I dream of getting a well-paid job while not having a tight schedule so I could still go for practices and sing with all my heart.

Right now, at this moment, I dream of being in the snowy Alp ranges of Switzerland, enjoying the breeze of the thin cool oxygen molecules.

Would all these be just a dream? Still be a dream after a while? Or would only remain as a dream?

Dreams are, indeed, wonderful.

McDull 麦兜 - 纸包鸡
This a cartoon short clip from Hong Kong. Voiced by 吴君如. There's a Mandarin version but I still find the Cantonese version funnier.

Doubts Cleared
Met my Honours supervisor and have most of my doubts cleared regarding what to do next. Also happened to talk to my mum over MSN yesterday. They seem to know much better than me what I actually wanted in my heart. It seems for now that the fate with my supervisor would end just about here, but I believe her guidance and advices thus far would definitely never bo forgotten. Had a nice chat with her too at her office in the Dean's Office.

But I guess everything comes at a price. For life choices like these, opportunity costs are just inevitable. At different points in life, people come and people go, life must still go on. Fulfilling one's dreams does not only costs lots of money, and in most cases, it costs fate too.

Maybe all these are also fated right from the start. The most important thing that we should always keep in mind is, to cherish all the good friends and good times while they are still around.

Thanks Ma. Thanks Dr Chin.

Inferiority Complex
It's been back and haunting me for the past few days. Feels like everything I do is always not up to the mark and my presence is not being felt very much. Exactly the feeling of being a middle child when I was younger.

This has nothing to do with sibling rivalry, and I am not craving for attention. Come on, how old already, and all 3 of us are in different places. But if you are not a middle child, you probably will not understand how this feeling looms and haunts. Now it just haunts me for some other issues in life.

Maybe I need to learn to be content and seek some tranquility instead. 知足常乐吗?

Probably my indecisiveness over what to do next is affecting my emotional capacity as well. Or are they interrelated I don't know. A great senior advised me to follow my heart. I know where my heart is, but I feel something is wrong about it. I feel insecured. Or is it just the pragmatic side of me trying to take over my mind?

Whatever it is, yeah, I have an inherent inferiority complex.
