OK, so its the end of April. End of 2nd sem. End of 1st yr. But its the beginning of the 3 month vacation!!! HAha... When vacations come into the picture, screw the rest. Doesn't really matter if they have ended. Whats more important is going to happen from 31 May to 13 July! Will really cherish this going-to-be-unforgettable 43 days out of this continent!
Anyways, just more or less packed up some stuffs today. Now basically left clothes and computer. Clothes still not so mafan, but computer definitely is the issue here. Nevermind. See what comes ;) Spent the whole morning packing... hmm at least until 10.30am and then slacking till now. Watching South Park episodes.
Ok... so another day has gone. Today I broke the record of my entire educational life, after staying in Central Library from 9.30am-9.30pm. Exactly 12 hours (not continuously, of course). And.... studying only ONE subject: the mighty Organic Chemistry. Basic. Not acidic. The progress? So far so good. Now I just want to get it over and done with, and then focus on how should i pack up my stuffs and prepare for the trip to Germany in June! Does this show enough my attitude towards exams? Gosh... really cant believe it... and I am only in First Year! (Going to be Second Year tho... hmm is this the norm? I wonder..)
Found out something today that really reflects the reality of this world. Hmm ok maybe I am just being very naive and I really dont know that. What can I do on finding that my beloved Hall of Residence does not really provide any space for us to keep our stuffs during the holiday for free. Yeah... Stupid rite? Nothing is free in this world. In order to find a place, how? Rent a room to keep them? Yeah rite, I am not going to bow down to the system. What a humanitarian way to take care of the students' welfare. So tell me anyone, is it that the Hall is already kind enough to provide me a place to stay? I should just pay for my stay according to my room type and my meal plan, and thats it? No other benefits? Perhaps there are, as long as I pay more! Pay, pay and pay. Yes. What happened when there are so many ants wanting to share the residence with us? They turn half blind. Spray insecticides. Full stop. They only know how to suck up money like vacuum cleaner. No money no talk. Where do all the money and the surcharges go? Someone's pocket? Very well. And they expect the students to be loyal to the Hall and be proud of it. Come on, tell me, on what freaking basis?
Well, maybe I am just too naive to have seen this fact only now. Yeah, they (the administration of course) can always say such things as: You guys are adults already, and you should be responsible for your own belongings. Afterall, we don't need to justify anything to you.
All right, you win. Whatever. Thats the ultimate excuse. What else can I say?
Hmm can anyone explain why I will get a stinging migraine after every paper? Too exhausted or my brain cells are in critical lack of oxygen and nutrients? Maybe both... I believe... haha... maybe because of other reasons? Any suggestions? Guess sleeping can cure... All right, sleeping mode initiated... ZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZz............................
English Translation How to survive? How to quench my thirst? How to go on without you? How to retaliate without a reason? You stripped me off my skin There is no eternity, in the end I remain quiet And there is a desert in my heart
Chorus Oh if you returned to me Thousands of sun light and spring If you returned for me Every kiss that you gave me is seriously a miracle But today you leave For there is no turning back
What have you afterwards? Plus there are tears If there is rain in the garden Short, endless musicals Overshadow enters and falls On my knees today I bid you farewell For the benefit both of us Something in your chest be broken on listening To this lunatic that dies of love
Oh if you returned to me Thousands of sun light and spring If you returned for me Every kiss that you gave me is seriously a miracle But today you leave For there is no turning back
And you released a hurricane With fire and fury on a volcano That himself is not put out As a vine that i was I am no longer a slave of you I am not able
Oh if you returned to my Life, oh if you returmed If you returned for me I will be seriously happy once again But today you leave For there is no turning back
Hmm the crude version of translation is done based on my understanding of the text through online Spanish-English dictionary... Was lazy and tried to cheat using free online translation, but seriously they really cannot make it! Haha.... for some of the phrases there might be some inferred meaning lah... coz sometimes direct translation between 2 languages do not produce logical sentences in each other. A song that I find meaningful, and with a forlorn melody... Just to share. Sorry if you cant understand my translation coz I dont know any Spanish... :P but basically this is the meaning lah. :)
This is the 2 diagnoses that a 4th-yr medic senior of mine came up with after telling him the conditions that I have been experiencing for the past 11 years.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Referring to the problems I am having with my stomach. It just gets nasty once in a while. Sometimes once a month, sometimes once in every 2 months. Well I guess a few factors are involved. One of them is definitely my diet. What I am feeding my stomach with upsets him as he may be sensitive to certain compounds. (Lactose intolerant for example. But strangely, although certain smell in the fresh white milk will instantaneously trigger reflexive vomiting; if the smell is completely covered as in Chocolate milk or with some other flavour, then there will not be any problems... am I really lactose intolerant?) (This part will be considered disgusting by some people. If you cannot stand 'shitty' sentences, please refrain from reading this part.) Then whenever I develop indigestion or excessive acids in stomach, my body system will respond with a diarrhoea and lots of flatulence. This is how all the materials stuck in my gastrointestinal track got cleared out. Is this healthy in the long run?
Allergic Rhinitis: None other than my beloved and wonderful nose. Come to think about it, actually I should not blame my nose coz its not his fault. Its my over-protective immune system against dust. Yeah, dust is the culprit amongst all the possible allergents. Solution? First and foremost, terutamanya (yes, I have not forgotten my Malay... haha): Hygiene! Get a dust-resistant pillow cover, and might as well change to a new pillow at the same time. Could cost a bit more but its a sound and reasonable investment. For the sake of my nose!!! Its really worrying to have leaky nose every morning, sometimes throughout the day, and worst case causing all sorts of other infections in the throat and develop a fever in the end! Exactly what has happened to me last weekend. Luckily I have the all-the-effective 枇杷膏 (Pi Pa Gao) with me, killing all the microbes that are trying to infest my throat.
There's another reason that was strongly suggested by my senior: stress level. Maybe it does affect to a certain extent, although I may not feel stressed psychologically. Could be my body's functional response towards it? Haiz, another evidence to my earlier Hypothesis that I am getting numb towards exams. In fact its my psychological state: its sensitivity towards academic stress is declining, perhaps, in an exponential fashion?
Wondering if my post sounds a little too scientific... :P
Well, feel a little awkward to realize that year one is going to end really soon within a week. Not that I realized it only now but just want to point out how fast time can really past. Scary, yeah? Soon I'll also be 21 already... Stepping into the life of an adult and the responsibility for whatever you are going to do just increases exponentially. But what the heck. While worrying for what's going to happen next, better concentrate more on whats going to happen immediately. 3 more papers to accomplish and thats it for my first year second semester. But then, after finishing a paper today, really dont feel like continuing... at least for today.
How did I do? All that i can say is that i've tried my best. No point elaborating more as there's nothing I can do with it. Haha sounds like i did some terrible things rite? But really, you'll know when it is the time to move on and worry for other subjects rather than wasting time finding out more about something that cannot be changed anymore.
Anyways, just had dinner... Don't know why I feel very funny, like there's butterfly in my stomach.. haha... doesnt really matter... afterall there's no paper tmr...
Set up a Mugging Osmotic Pressure today at +1.77 MPa after establishing the definition. Why +1.77 MPa? Hmm... not particular reason though... That's just me, always do things at own will without necessary justification. Well, even now it seems that I am really growing numb towards Exams... you know.. E.X.A.M.S... So what man, being a full time student doesnt mean that examinations are everything. Too much of drilling at schools i guess? In fact here they dont really drill, its the peer pressure that matters more.
Thanks Gin and Lisa for reading my awful blog here... Actually it is crappy la... haha... not much intentions but just feel like penning down my thoughts at times *squeak* and happy to know that you like that too... haha... will put more time in this when the exam really ends!
Well better not to stay too late today... not much things happening other than mugging, mugging, eating, sleeping, oh yeah... The Interpreter is a good movie. A good political analogy. Could be a good catch if you like politics. :) Its amazing seeing how proficient Nicole Kidman's character is in fluently speaking English, French, Spanish and her African mother tongue. Inspired me to some extent lah... haha
This is a quote from an officer from the Ministry of Esel (German: Donkey) , Singapore: Mugging is the condition whereby the distance between the book and the Mugger is so close that he flips the pages with his nose, and then assimilate all the information from the book into the brain by Osmosis.
Haha.... where is it?? None other than the Medic Library... gosh can't believe that the condition there is sooooooo conducive... first of all, not as large the crowds, probably coz its kinda isolated from the rest of the campus and not many people realized its 'potential'?? Well i would think its more of the proximity factor. Coz I saw lots of fellow keviians there too. lol. But it has not been very productive today... dont know why... feeling kind of 'numb' towards exams??? Maybe... after so many years of drilling thanks to the wonderful education systems of both Malaysia and Singapore. Well it may be argued that they are different systems but not altogether. Analogically, the basic features remain. Just that when they surface it seem very different. Same thing as human race la... people can look very different outside, but all humans, in fact all lifeforms are coded by the four basic nucleotides. See? 2 layers of analogy here... Intra-discipline and inter-discipline. Thinking that the University system would be somewhat different was it is known to draw close reference to US university systems, but then, well, still an Asian university afterall. Guess there bound to be some inter-continental shocks...
Wondering what have i just talked about. Getting insane liao... haha... better get back to Physical Chem before being screwed by Prof Goh this coming Friday.... where's my sense of urgency? Argh!
Actually the first paper starts only this coming Friday but W.H.O. C.A.R.E.S. --> Its all going to end on the mighty day of 29 April 2005 A.D. Ok... seems I m getting crazy, but nvm.. Well, what to expect after fallen prey to a population of microbes and trying to get back to the momentum to eradicate them from my fragile body defense system.. Well still has got lotsa stuffs to do... especially after comfortably slept for one whole day yesterday.. (not continuously, but) woke up at 10.30pm... Stayed up to about 1.30pm then sleep again... My white blood cells were really actively fighting for the control of my body from the awful microbes, viruses or bacteria, whichever they may be. But well, woke up at 6 am with eyes big and wide.. @.@... shiny??? dunno ler... not so sure... haha anyway... Got back 2 papers 2101 and PS essay.... not bad lah... tho not to my expectations.. haha... nvm... Life still has to go on regardless. Another achievement (well at least to me) today: Almost whole day in Chinese Library doing revision work. At least one proper day out of so many that had been tried out for the past few weeks. LOL. Got back German II paper last Thursday! Such a pity that Frau Ritter not teaching Deutsch III anymore, but perhaps will meet her again in German for Academic Purposes.. Really no regrets taking German in Uni.. hehe... although its not the time for now to worry for German lah... but really appreciate those that helped along the way. Now really cannot wait to go Freiburg and Switzerland!! Hahahahaa... ok ok... i know i m losing my cool and my image... erm then again u might wonder if i ever at all have an image of myself but nevermind... hahaha... Who cares?? I happy can liao Time to switch back to mugging mode... Turn on my knowledge receptors in my brain surface membrane... first must reactivate knowledgidase... brrrrrrrrrrrr..............
Hmm so its not very appropriate to sudenly write in another language... haha... does not really matter to me anyway... but hmm.... this weekend is so far quite an exciting one... first of all had lots of fun in the workshop with Clueso! Many people may not know him here but i'm sure he's one of the famous Hip-Hop singers in Germany. I think his style is a little different with those of Eminem's, and of coz vulgarities to a significantly lesser extent. We played games and took lots of pictures...but the only wasted thing is not having the chance to get one CD of his with autograph!!! argh... nevertheless still got his autograph.. actually i think Bates is better in rapping... and looking at them shooting out the words at those speeds... wow... i believe only native Germans would have such an ability. Firstly we were asked to think of words that have the same ending syllabus, for example ,,täglich, endlich, ...'' On sunday we were made to do a presentation on Hip-Hop... this event is not only participated by NUS students but also German language students from NTU as well as NJC. Overall very very interesting... hahah just dunno how to describe lah... Well today is not a very good day for me... First thing first: German test and Spectroscopy test!! Had a very bad headache after the German test... well it was a very demanding one... much more than the first one... cant imagine it... its just the German II!! Cant imagine how would it be like in German III and German IV... The listening comprehension was a killer... dialogues are ok... giving directions!!!! argh... dowana mention anymore lah... as for Spectroscopy, still ok, mis out points here and there... haha aiks very tired ler... many brain cells killed... and time to sleep earlier lah nitezzz
