Disillusioned
I am quite appalled in that a certain organization from a university has never failed to amaze me with unpleasant surprises (well, there was ONE rather pleasant surprise though, although it was really inhumane for them not to do that) from time to time.

For example, they never admitted their mistakes, but they have also never failed to make impolite complaints against people who 'rented' their facilities. Let me digress a little bit, and I have never understood the rationale of students having to rent the facilities in the institution despite having their school fees paid. Administrative fee? Maintenance fee? Rubbish

In this institution perhaps, students are never really respected. They are only treated well when it comes to paying school fees and becoming successful contributor to the economy after graduation ( = successful alumni = more donations JUST because it is our alma mater)

The Truth in Politics
comes when they openly deny accusations against them, and then abuse their power by manipulating the executive branch to seek revenge.

Seriously, I am getting sick of all this. Please restore the necessary order soon or 27 million people will suffer at the hands of your stubborn personal agenda in hunting for the power.

Nuff said.

Random
3 Weeks. And finally real work starts. Will have to bear with not having staff card for a while. Grr... they promised 2 weeks but until now still havent get. Anyway... more to come and will get busy soon.

Anyway, it's a pity that all the below-mentioned matches succumbed to the mighty domination of the Host Nation. Really good they are, but one thing I cannot stand (that's why I am sitting now, yes) is the snobbishness of their player. Does being high up there entitles you the right to be cocky and make such a big fuss out of it? I think humility is still a better virtue.

Haven't received my first pay, and I have to play host tomorrow. Rather rare visitors to expect in Singapore, so I better entertain them well. Hoho... but the disadvantage will be... no auditions. T.T

Time to sleep to make more clay tomorrow.

京运: 拭目以待
I must say that the Games have been exciting so far, having watched quite a number of events live or recorded. Notable particularly, is none other than World Record breaking stunts performed repeatedly by Phelps.

Tonight, up to 28 million people in Malaysia and Singapore would be glueing their eyes on their respective countries' attempt to upset the almighty Host country for the Gold medal on 2 different events:

Table Tennis Women's Final: Singapore vs China; 7.30pm, Channel 5

Badminton Men's Single Final: Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia) vs Lin Dan (China); 8.45pm, RTM 1

For Singapore, it is unprecedented. They've waited for a long 48 years before getting a second Olympic medal, and there's no better reason to celebrate the cause. The Singapore team would have my best wishes to clinch their first Gold for Singapore in the coming Final.

For Malaysia, it has been a very very exhilarating moment. 12 years of Olympic medal drought, and if Lee Chong Wei managed to pin down his World No.1 opponent tonight, it will also be an unprecedented first Olympic Gold ever for Malaysia. And I personally think this match would be extremely exciting, given that Lee Chong Wei's world ranking is not far away at all.

Recently, the image of the host has been badly marred by allegations over the sending of a fake singer on stage, using fake recordings of fireworks during the opening ceremony. One do not need to mention how many people, including both the young girls, are disappointed by these incidents.

[And there, Phelps just got his 8th Gold.]

However, I have my qualms against the attitude of the Western media insofar. Despite the spirit of Olympics being the foster of friendships before all, they've time to time been focusing on the so-called atrocious Human Rights Record of the Host Country. I do not understand the logic and connection between Sports and Human Rights: were anyone of them denied the right to participate in the Games? I was so sure that after the impressive Opening Ceremony, they would have been even more sour and ever to find more setbacks to criticize the Host.

I personally think that sometimes they should really study how things in other side of the world work before plunging blindly into harsh criticisms looking only from a biased and skewed perspective from a very different Western culture. I am sure the Eastern culture and cilivization deserves some respect too.

And if need be there, just go ahead and emerge by all means as the new sports superpower. Certain people's ego needs to be punctured now and then so that they could appreciate the virtue of humility.

We faced. We learnt. We grew. We matured. =)
This is probably going to be one long post.

In the beginning, we were clueless and uncertain. Clueless of our repertoire, uncertain of whether I should still take part. Under the amended regulations from last year, if I stay in the group, we would have to enter in the Open Category. I had qualms about it initially and thought maybe we should not take the risk. But you all believed in me and in ourselves. Thank you all for the trust. =)

Also, there was a point in time where I knew I was not able to sing for VO3. At that moment I really felt miserable because I have always been dreaming about singing for a major performance. And when it appeared very obvious to me that I should put priority to my family occasion, I was really disappointed at myself. But it was also there then, I became even more determined to participate in the champs.

And yes, ask any of our group member we'll all say the same thing: that it was really an astronomical number of hurdles and obstacles that we went through. From choosing a suitable repertoire that could really exhibit the individual and combined power of all the group members was definitely no easy task. When we finally decided to take a big risk by going with all 3 NEW songs, unsurprisingly we were showered with many concerns over the time and possibilities, and worthiness of taking such risks. We went on determined, and throughout the entire process it was not always smooth as well. Not only we faced the various numerous challenges altogether, we also took in our respective side of pain, as well as growing from it. Throughout the course, we have really managed to build a strong bond among us. Not only that, there has been also much more 默契 than ever.

And all that has built up for the past 6 weeks culminated on a single day, or to be more precise, in about 11 minutes 30 seconds.

When I stepped out onto the stage with Charm and Sumi, my mind was quite blank actually. Looking cluelessly at the emcee now and then, having absolutely no idea what we was talking about. And at last, the very moment of truth arrived:

Best Soloist (Ms Fron-say)

1st prize for Open Category

Overall Champion

How to describe my feelings... I was really dumbfounded upon hearing the announcement on stage. At that moment. I really lost all clues of how I should react. The spontaneity in me was just momentarily... lost. Maybe I was just too excited that I didn't get promoted to the more energetic state. It was like... all our efforts so far have proven to worth the amount and the time, and it was a form of appreciated from the judges and the audiences.

One thing I must say, is that I am so sO SO So so proud of each and everyone of you: Sumi, Su Hui, Cherie, Charm and Han Yang! Here's some shoutout on a more personal note:

Sumi: Do you know how much I adore and admire your voice? And you actually thrive as the pitches get higher. Just listening to how comfortable you could in singing high notes could make me speechless. You are really the Sarah Brightman of our group! Thanks for your trust in me, and your willingness to share with me your problems, although most of the time I could only listen and not being able to give you any reasonable advices. Take good care of yourself, and don't let your fantastic voice go into waste!

Su Hui: Hoho... there comes my Ms Dragon! You have always been the "cheer leader" of the group, and thanks to you, we could really be ourselves most of the time. You definitely rocked the entire evening during the champs so much, that the judges could not resist the prize to be given to you. And I am really, really glad to be able to sing together with you in the same group! =) Congratulations once again!

Cherie: None other than Ms Tiger. Hoho :P Without your wonderful arrangements of Hweewer and Crayon Shin Chan, we would not have achieved what we did. And thank you very very much too, for being so patient in teaching, guiding me musically along the way. Really learnt a lot from you. And have I told you, that you are one of the best VPs I have ever seen so far? This has nothing to do with your gender, and I truly mean it. You are certainly one of the most versatile musician that I have ever met. :)

Charm: What more do I need to tell you, since you have already made me dropped by jaws since our second round of auditions for Resonance? :D Your rendition of Hweewer with your sexy Alto voice was reallly OWNING during champs, and it was pretty, beautifully and handsomely astonishing! And I must really applaud on your excellent way of making sure our practices take place smoothly and in getting everyone up on their feet. Ken Lee, the PM, we would have been one messy breed. Take care of yourself, and have a good year (not the tyre, please :D)

Han Yang: Having you around really comforts me, as I knew that my lame legacy would be safely passed on in Resonance. Initially I was worried if you could mix well with the rest of the group members, but soon after I felt greatly relieved in knowing that you are completely miscible to our group solution dynamics to form a homogenous solution. Way to go dude, and I know one day your lame ability would surpass me. But till then, be a little more patient and let me reign for a little longer can? Say about 2 metres ya :)

And given my 口没遮拦 way of speaking, if I have ever offended anyone of you guys before, please let me know so that I could offer you my sincere apologies? Sometimes I tend to be insensitive towards how others feel, but I have absolutely no intention to hurt you.

Being able to sing with all of you as a group is a great honour to me. And millions of thanks for making my wishes come true. Thanks to all Resonance seniors and juniors who have been absolutely supportive, and thanks to all my buddies who have sent me your best wishes.

Life's wonderful, ain't it? :)

On that Spur of Moment
I was totally, completely, absolutely stunned. It was a tough fight, and even until this moment I still do not know how to feel. Or rather, how to express my feelings.

After all these while, our efforts have paid off. FINALLY.

Was also very touched by the fellow Reso members who have rendered us their support all the way. Once again, (insert the largest astronomical number here) of thank yous.

On a more personal note, it is a dream come true :) Really very glad to have CHarmaSuThra around. Without anyone of you, this little dream of mine would never have come true now.

P/S: SHUGS. I didn't hit my C accurately.

Speechless
Nothing much worth being spoken about now. We are giving our final leap and the rest is out of our control. Challenges come now and then to complicate the matters, but things still turned out fine. I hope we can pull through this time.

'Nuff said.

Self Confidence Crisis
AGAIN, YES.

I would think it as an excuse to say that it is part of my personality and there's no way I could change it, but probably I have become so used to it after all these years. Especially during these transitional periods in life I realized my self confidence are always at its lowest point.

Above all, I don't really know if I am having too high expectations of myself or will I eventually live up to the expectation of my supervisor. Princess Martini did make a valid point on the way home with her, and well it opens my perspective through an angle that I have not seen from before.

On the side note, I seriously think my coordinative impairment would not jeopardize the aura and the strength of the entire team during the Finals. Have to work HARD. Definitely not want to bear the blame and the shame.

千古罪人,遗臭万年矣。

Indifference
Have a really great difficulty finding the right word that could completely represent the summary of this entry. Maybe I am exhausted enough at this hour, but I just feel kind of indifferent even at this turning point in my life.

Or is it really a turning point, now that what I am going to do in the next 2 years is somewhat a continuation of what I did in my last academic year in the university?

Or it might just be the beginning of my lifelong carrier.

All that I can say is, it was pretty comfortable on my part for the first day of work. Probably also a little not at the ground state (i.e. excited) because it was a Friday lah. hahaha... But anyway, my supervisor seems very nice and friendly to work with, gave me tonnes of encouragements to the long career path for me ahead. hmm it seems that he thinks quite highly of me too. Don't know if I would eventually leave up to his expectations, but I know it is not just my own reputation and reliability at stake; it is about my professor who recommended me to the job too. Without her I would not have achieved what I have today. So I'll give my best from now onwards. And as everyday proceeds, I am walking a step closer to fulfilling my dreams eventually. So I am now happy and satisfied with what I have.

Anyway, did nothing on the first day. Basically getting myself orientated to the new environment as well as self-familiarization. Have my own desktop, fully account-customized and will have a staff pass and name card very soon! (And first pay too. HAHA)

But crap, I still can't believe that I have fully graduated and now integrating myself into the working world.
