Chinese Horoscope (A projected progress of next Lunar Year: Dog)
:P Personally believe more in Chinese Horoscope: Myself being a Rat! According to a website, I am a wooden rat.. so... here it is... in general for everyone who was born in 1984!
Rat's Overview The Rat may encounter some financial challenges, for their business will need utmost care and tending in order to reach full prosperity. But they should not wreck their health by working excessively. On the contrary, they would be better off looking for a good sense of relaxation in meditation and reflection.
Dear Rat, be a bookworm, and you'll profit from the year well. Do you know that reading is for the mind what exercise is for the body, as Joseph Addison said? Of course, it isn't necessary to read much, but it is necessary to read usefully. Through reading, you can find the means to ennoble yourself and to become wiser
. What Your Element Has To Add Wood Rat: Enterprising and at the same time sufficiently prudent so as not to take excessive risks, you'll cleverly manage your affairs. This is what will allow you to beat all obstacles and to reach important professional objectives this year.
Fire Rat: What a fine year! It will indeed bear the mark of the stars. As a result, in your work you'll know how to exploit the opportunities that will be presented to you, and you'll rapidly climb up the ladder of the hierarchy.
Earth Rat: This year you'll have the possibility to achieve great things. However, in order to succeed, you should channel your energy and beware of having an unfocused mind. In love, be wary of inappropriate outbursts! If you're happily married, don't risk jeopardizing everything by indulging in sudden whims.
Metal Rat: Confidence will be present in you, and this will permit you to move mountains! On the professional plane, you'll be in a position to achieve some of your highest ambitions. In love, you'll succeed in making passion and faithfulness coexist. And if you're single, you'll have great chances to meet the ideal partner!
Water Rat: You'll need harmony around you, and it's why you'll be prepared to control any aggressive tendencies. Heartwise, this intelligent attitude will allow you to soften the tensions that sometimes exist in your couple life and to have tender moments with your mate. In your work, you'll take time to get around the obstacles.
One big question Why is it SO HOT these two days?? Rain enough for the last 2 weeks?? So an extreme weather!!!
Really did nothing this weekend Except for completing my Anal Chem Assignment which current standing now stands at 1,769 words And this whole day The German Language
Think should rest a while now
Today met this person in hall Don't really feel like talking to this person anymore Really changed a lot Recent greetings (just 'hi') upon seeing this person are all ignored No point talking to this person anymore Bleah
Wanted to add something but in the last post i said I shall say no more words So just be it
Well, I don't only express or vent my anger in a single language I can speak English, German, Chinese and Malay Don't think I am so obsessed with German I will scold u in German I will not Cos my German is not as proficient as my English Forget it not that my mother tongue is Chinese At the end of the day I still can vent my disappointment and anger in Chinese in Classical Chinese Hear that? Guess you don't and you won't Cos i know that you don't give a Scheiße What is Scheiße? Check the German-English dictionary Schlagt mal das Woerterbuch nach Dann werdet ihr "Scheiße" kennen lernen
Don't really want to write about politics here But sometimes i just cant feel better vomiting it out A message i received from JCRC this morning "Please do not overspend your budget as it is REALLY TIGHT this year" Cool REALLY TIGHT That's why I am allocated a GARGANTUAN sum of 50 Singapore dollars 50 Singapore dollars to manage 2 groups for one year When I knew about the allocation No one, and no word in any existing natural language could describe how furious I was at this extreme absurdity Can anyone teach me how? When I brought this up They say i wrote it down myself This showed that either they do not have very good eyesight (yes its present tense) Or that they are really all out to bully me They make their own decisions and their decisions are always wise and everyone is expected to accept what they receive When we seek help from them? One day.... One week... Two weeks... You will reach to a conclusion to carry out with things at your discretion And if something gets screwed? 2 words Die lor
Oh ya, actually also received this message earlier: "We are very disappointed that more than half of you did not attend the meeting on Wednesday" So, only you can be disappointed with us We cannot, and should not Cos we voted for you to be in power? And you deserve the place that you are in now? It's fun no doubt Practicing the art of making and disseminating instructions But hey This message was not sent out until like... 2 days before? And hey What about activities that are held on Wednesday? Call it to a halt then come for the meeting? And when we don't turn up "We are very disappointed" What about When our requests and concerns are turned down With lame excuses or simply ignorance?
I have only these few words to convey You all think you very big ah? Sad to say, most of them have changed since they came into power Change in what way? Just observe I shall add no more words
Of Absurdity What more can u expect out of an absurdity For a science paper to consist of a maximum-2,000- word essay assignment? Absurd, but no choice, as it takes up 9% of the final composition Won't sleep till i finish this awful assignment
Of Gasp Is this the correct noun for "sigh"? Sorry my engrish no good. haha well not the time to laugh Will have to do a rather strange favour A favour of hospital visiting... Visiting someone who suddenly discovered blockage of some arteries and is now in serious condition Someone who have always lead a good life Eating healthy food, non smoker very conscious of his health Suddenly diagnosed with this chronic illness Is life ever fair?
and of Obsession Hmm Am i getting obsessed with German language? I don't know Or is it just the exams? Sometimes i feel that i m not majoring in Chemistry sondern (but) German language See!!! Believe me It's fun to learn German And get to know the German people At least, they are in general more friendly than the French Don't believe? Experience it yourself Don't just take stereotypes as truths French is romantic? and a beautiful language? I would rather take it as a subjective comment. To me, German is a beautiful language. Why not? :) Hmm why do i learn German? Not sure tho Maybe there's something planned for me Just chose German when I was given the choice between German and French Why ar???
Hmm... It seems very relaxed the past week. Although I have like 2 2,000 words (its 2 two-thousand word, not twenty-two-thousand-word) essay to be completed by the end of this year. Well, the most meaningful occasion that i wana emphasize in this entry is none other than.... I received a Birthday Card from my Host Family - All the way from Germany!!!! . . . (No, ICN is certainly not as meaningful as occasion. Sorry lah lol) . . . . So touched!!!! So sweet of them, ain't it? Their card really made me miss them so much.... Cant wait to go back and see them! That was on Friday, the same day ICN was held. Hmm it was better than last year's Thats all that I want to say In conclusion, I am sooooooooooooooo happy with the card!!!! Haha Sorry lah, a bit crazy liao
Haha... kind of late in retropecting of this wonderful day...
What day is that which was so wonderful?
None other than 15th October, the last Saturday
Which was my 21st big day!
Here's the summary of what happened:
12.00am
A friend who was my JC classmate and is now studying Medicine in Ipoh called me - right on the dot! For those who know, he is LKY. Not Lee Kuan Yew but Lee Khai Yin. A handsome (voted unanimously by my JC female classmates), intelligent and talented doctor-to-be. What more can you expect from such a friend when he even sang a birthday song for me? Had a long 20 minutes' chat with him (oh no, come to think of it, i think his bills must have... *clears throat*) and of course, that was already a first, wonderful present for me!
12.20am
Mama called. Erm... she's not my biological mother, but closer friends would know who am i referring to. SW. Haha.. the moment she got to me, she sobbed, telling me that she knew she was not the first one to call because I was on the line with KY when she called! Nevermind. Haha... so she also sang a birthday song to me. She and the rest of her gang was celebrating WS's birthday in PGP. (In other words, yes, finally there is someone having the same birthday as I do!) then HC also picked up the phone, SM and XH too I guess. Can't remember clearly liao :P and also the sequence :P Before ending the call, HC gave me this one big hint:
"Don't sleep so early hor..."
1.00am
The twins (TN and TL), HC, SW, SM, KY, XH, WS came over with the last piece of birthday cake for WS and celebrate my bday! SM then proceeded to try looking around to see if there's "someone else' or someone else's picture" in my drawer, in the cupboard or whatsoever. Then she saw some pictures I taken back when I was in JC... And commented that one of my juniors and I were a good match. Hmm.... I shall not comment on that. We then proceed on to talk cock until like 2.00am where they were getting sleepy and went back home. Soon, I went to bed too.
8.30am
Woke up and had breakfast. After that procrastinated a while until like 9.20am to go out to Clementi and meet my cousin Wynne before going to Toa Payoh together.
11.20am
Reached my aunt's place at Toa Payoh finally. My family was already there, my younger brother still sleeping, my elder brother and his gf went out to get soemthing from NTUC. My mom was preparing the necessary materials needed for my bro's gf to make sushi. As soon as she came back she started making them. Wynne followed and helped her. Soon my parents went out to have lunch with one of my other cousins (um... its complicated to explain)
(This is an English translation of my German assignment below)
(Of course, I did not translate the title directly into German! Want to die ah.. haha)
Once upon a time, there was a cute little mouse called Jerry, who lives with his mother in a hole of a house. Jerry was very curious. He always wanted to look out for adventures, but his mother never allowed him to step out of their home. This is so because she thought that he was still too young. However, Jerry never understood the forbid.
"There must be a lot of sweets outside. That's why mum never let me go out. Evil mum!" thought Jerry.
One day, he could not wait any longer to go outside. His mother went out to look for food since morning and was not at home.
So he thought,"If I go out now but come back quickly, mum will surely never know about it!" Furthermore, he believed that he was old enough, for he celebrated his birthday just a day before. Without further a do, he went on to explore more of the outside world.
In the beginning, everything was calm. There were no signs of danger. Jerry became so excited that he started running around the house without any caution. Little did he know that a cat was already eyeing on him, and was just very close to him. Luckily, his mother passed by and found him there. She gasped in shock and tried to attract his attention, but he was simply too excited to notice anything. Suddenly the cat jumped over and caught him right on the spot. He tried to escape, but it was too late. He cried for help. Quickly, his mother charged towards the cat and bit its tail. The cat ran away in pain, therefore leaving Jerry out of danger. They then quickly ran as fast as they could back to their home.
This adventure taught him an important lesson: always remember what the adults say!
Ok la... the plot is a lil weird but i have to submit in a short while.. no time to write a full script... Does it suit the title? :P
Zuerst war alles still.
Haha... not too long ago, a friend of mine was asking me to update my blog. So now here it is. Oh yeah, today I broke the record of my entire educational history. I skipped 3 lectures in a row! Okay, actually only 2. The first one cos the lecturer is away for 2 weeks (good news cos no 8 am class for 2 weeks, bad news cos CA on thursday!) The second one, wont understand the second lecture anyway. The third lecture: it makes no difference whether you go for it or not. Cos u will not catch a single ball! So, managed to complete my lab report as well as a fairy tale (inspired by this same friend who bought the T-shirt for me as my 21st birthday gift!) erm... in German... actually.. It is supposed to be a homework to be handed in at 6pm later. Will post it up, and translate it to English. Hehe...
Hehe... this is how scrambled egg is called in German.. New vocab learnt today in class! Rühr = scrambled das Ei = egg ('das' indicates that egg is neutral in gender) (by the way, all German nouns are capitalized) Therefore, rühr + das Ei = das Rührei = scrambled egg Ever wondered why some German words are so long? such as 'Arbeitsunfähigkeitsbescheinigung' The mechanism of building such a length of words is actually simple. Simply add them up. Ganz einfach! Hehe... learn German.. it's fun!
Sometimes I wonder.. Are disasters and catastrophies present to maintain a certain form of equilibrium in the biological world? Human population is proliferating at an alarming rate. Years ago, the 6-billion mark has been surpassed. Yet, global human population continues to surge. But there are also more virulent diseases and syndromes surfacing.. plainly as a result of mutation? or perhaps acting as a form of moment of force restoring a new state of equilibrium, now that the state has long been disturbed? Le Chatelier's Principle?
A terrible earthquake struck the populous nations of India and Pakistan. Claiming hundreds of lives. Is this merely natural disaster? Look at the AIDS pandemic... How it spreads across the globe.. Look at how the health ministries across the globe are afraid of the emergence of a virulent strain of bird flu... Are all these inevitable? May the quake victims all find their peace in mind soon...
Get it? Cos they are vectors for transmission of the Dengue Fever Virus. Quoting from Kyodo News (Friday, 7 0ct) :More than 11,000 people have been sickened by dengue so far this year, with 13 deaths. (See, I'm doing bibliography! No plagiarism! haha) With the current rainy weather, guess the wet monsoon is coming back. Be careful and take good care of yourselves.
However, found this interesting statement from the same article: "While we were the trendsetter, I think we have slipped." He said some cities in China were becoming cleaner than Singapore. Who is he? Someone. Don't wana quote. Later get jailed. Anyway, back to the context.. What does the third sentence supposed to mean?! Insulting China? or as if Singapore is the cleanest place on Earth? Come on. Be less ignorant. Too proud can only get ur nose too high. Later when rain, water goes in. And you get drowned.
Seriously, no play play. From Channel News Asia, 7 Oct: Malaysia has reported a dramatic surge in dengue cases this month, from 507 in the first week to 752 last week. No joke man. The scariest killers are usually the invisibles. But they are certainly not the Incredibles. Let's screw them!
Can someone please tell me? This is a selfish world. Not selling fish per se, but S.E.L.F.I.S.H
Time flies. People come and go. When they come, they bring something with them. When they go, they expect, if not already, to take away something along with them.
As they changed, they expect the surroundings to change to suit their needs. When it doesn't, all kinds of requests were made. And it is expected that the requests are attended to. 百般迁就,方能令天下太平乎? 何以见得 何以见得?
It is definitely not at all easy to hold complete power and authority over a certain group of speciality. It takes a whole lot of passion, patience, tact, and a fair mind to lead. Ganz nicht einfach. Yet, there are people out there who yearn all the way to acquire such power, such authority, and thrive on having such powers. Perhaps it was true. I was told that I could never be someone on the topmost position. The most I could be is on the second. Fair enough. I was not born with tact and patient. Do I have the quality to lead? Sometimes, I doubt. But I should not. For if I believe in myself, I can. Wirklich? Seriously, I don't know how to properly lead. To lead in such a way that pleases most of the people. To lead in such a way that everyone respects you in return. Or should I not expect anything in return? Maybe I should not. But when I get annoying responses (sometimes rather irresponsible) It really gets up to my nerve. But I try my best not to show it out. Am I a hypocrite? Or do I show my temper? Please, teach me how to lead.
Always thought I am weird. A contemporary oddball of the regular trend. An anomaly from a form of trend line. When the rest are going for Life Sciences, I took the Dead, revolving around the Lifes. When the French Language is the seemingly more popular foreign language choice, I get crazy over German Language. When people fancy over the Anime and the Japanese Language, or anything else Japanese, I learn the Korean script instead. And everything just seem so weird to me. Is this another kind of odd fate?
Perhaps not. Called host parents in Germany last nite around 2pm. Had a nice chat with Rita, my host mother. Ok, I see her as my Godmother from now on. My 契妈. She seemed surprise at hearing from me, but I feel the warmth when I just heard from her. Everything is going fine with their family. Wir sind alle gesund. That was what Rita told me. She even sent regards to my family in Malaysia. I had so much things to say, but when she picked up the phone, I was speechless. As though I could not speak any German at all. Although its only a month, it was a month filled with warmth, sincerity and care. Never will I forget this month The month of June, the year of 2005. The month in which I stayed in Ebringen, Freiburg. What more, it's getting colder over there. And it stays constantly hot, burning, frying, and stickifying over here. Grass isn't always greener on the other side of the road? Guckt noch mal. In my case, this proverb fails terribly. Fruchtbar.
