Some thoughts
Hmm have been thinking over these past few days (too bad this haunts me over the new year. what the) and think i should drop NUS Choir. Not a right time to join I think. Will discuss with a friend with whom I joined together. Not the issue of whether I can handle, but its the issue of priority. Want to spend more time on studies instead.

Have a Prosperous Year of the DOG
Oh well, its almost a week since my last blog entry and last week was none of any relaxed one. This week? Well at least got to cool down and breathe for Chinese New Year. This year is indeed a good one though its shorter than the previous ones - Have to return to Singapore on the second day itself. Sigh...

Alright, here's just a synopsis of what happened in the last few days:

27 Jan: Morning 9.30pm - Left Hall for Johor Bahru with Ryan
11.00pm - Reached Larkin, Johor Bahru
Afternoon 12.30pm - Bus set off for Kuala Lumpur
Evening 5.30pm - Alight at Pudu bus station, Kuala Lumpur
Went to Starbucks for Supper cos mom sais she wants to try ice-blended coffee. Fair enough so we brought her there.

28 Jan: Well what do people do on New Year's eve? According to traditional Chinese customs its 大扫除, but this year most part has been done before I came back. So nothing much just a little last bit of clean ups in the morning. Went to Uncle's Restaurant at SS3, Petaling Jaya for Reunion Lunch (As it is every year). It is a pot luck meal la. Everyone of my mom's brother and sister cook a different dish. Then we bring together and eat together! This lunch didnt start until about 2pm, and ended about 4pm. So when we reached home, in addition to the heat remaining on the whole day, we were all so tired and I jumped onto bed almost immediately upon reaching home. So at night, we had our own reunion dinner instead. A small but complete reunion dinner. After meal I helped my dad wrap ang pows. Hehehe.... I knew which ones contain how much. Cos different relative (depending on closeness) receives different amount for my family. Nothing much for tonight but stayed at home all the way until midnight past the countdown! Slept at around 2 am.
29 Jan: Set off to Melaka at 9 am as soon as we got up and prepared. Reached Melaka at about a quarter before 11 am. Didn't sleep in car cos we chatted along the way. Well it was kind of crowded already upon reachin my uncle's place in Semabok. This was where my grandparents used to live in too. Anyway, had a good collection of angpows here. Every year it is at this place where we collect most of our ang pows. So it is a critical place. Haha... but over the years things change, and ang pow starts going down hill these few years it seems? lol... no problem. After that we all set off to visit family by family, a traditional Chinese custom again: 拜年!Although this are very different with the then traditional situation, but the atmosphere is well preserved! all the new year cookies... gosh I have a bigger stomach for workout now. Haha... Had steamboat at night! Of course it had to be a good one lol. Then started gambling at around 11pm until about 2am? Initially it was good. Was winning at about RM 27 at the peak of my luck. (My stakes are RM 2 per game, Black Jack), but at the end start losing back liao. So overall? Lost RM 2. Haha... not too bad lah :P
30 Jan: Second day... nothing much. Cousins set off for their 外婆家. So we stayed until about 3 something (cos my bus is 4.30pm) then they put me off for my bus. Argh. What a CNY. Reached Singapore at around 9 plus. It was a crazy congestion at JB but unexpectedly calm on the Causeway and at Singapore's side. So reached hostel at around 10 pm.
31 Jan: Went to aunt's place for steamboat... again yes. But got 2 Singapore-dollar angpows. Haha... good enough tho :P

Who cares?
Well it seems that not many people in this pathetic Hall ever cares for Amplitude. Really so hard to find someone in this Hall who appreciates Choral music. What for having the credit of organizing such event when there's going to be no support from the Hall? Not even the higher authorities for durian's sake. No signs nor indications till now. Nevermind. As long as I care, and those who care care, good enough isn't it?

I shall persist and persevere. I am doing what I like. Who cares when others do not care what I care.

有我在,天塌不下来!

Thanks though for all my friends out there who care. And those who will support. I promise I won't disappoint you all :)

Madness: Episode 4
OK, so this friend of mine was right: there exist an Episode 4 of my madness in current semester.

1. I am taking 6 modules, completely violating my initial decision in taking only 5 earlier on.

2. I am (still) heading my Hall Choir and A Capella. Well officially it is counted only as one, but functionally it has to be 2 separate groups. So I am heading 2 groups in Hall.

3. I joined NUS Choir since Thursday. Thinking of staying. Tho' it may be tiring.. but its su much fun! Would'nt sacrifice something that I really enjoy, would I?

4. Well, this one cannot change much. Still chairing the convening committee for upcoming Amplitude.

5. I was prepared to drop my 6th module last night, oh well... too late... have to drop with a "W" grade!

So in this new episode of madness?

1. I am keeping my 6th module

2. The rest shall remain status quo.

Am I crazy?

Yes, I think I am.

Ich bin schon verrückt!

Madness: Episode 3
Oh well guess I will be officially sick soon.

Anyway, joined NUS Choir formally last night. Instead of Tenor 1 in AJC, now I am a Tenor 2! Haha... Voice cracked once again?! No lah... not feeling well these days so sounds like I have bigger balls :P.. So, imagine having to learn 6 songs + 1 new song in a matter of 3 hours. From 6.30pm to 9.30pm. AND I am down with flu, with my nose mercilessly leaking. But I have to say it is really very fun! Gosh... that also means I am gonna sell tickets again... sigh... another NUS Choir Concert coming up on 4th March!!! Oh well in total I think I will have 13 songs to learn. Argh!!!

Am I crazy???

I think I am.

Well, thinking back about Hall Choir... heard comments about the songs being "difficult" to learn. Really feel like taking them down to NUS Choir practice one day and listen for themselves. Then only they will understand what is the meaning of "difficult". Sigh... encountered some attitude problems also. Actually so far there's only this guy la...never inform in advance when he will not come for practices. Despite my mass-mail scolding at everyone's irresponsibility, plain ignorance. Nevermind. During the practice he kept quiet all the time and didnt want to sing. When I told him to sing out aloud, he talked back at me! Well ok it might not sound to be a big deal but if you have seen the way he answered me, you would have understood why I make this such a big fuss. Anyway I dont really care about him anymore. Just waiting for the chance to kick him out if I can. Have been holding this for too long and just don't test my patience man. As Amplitude approaches I will go really mad.

And guess I have had enough with Hall activities by now. The attitude shown by the members just does not reflect the passion I have for this Hall Choir. Not all la of course. Some are very good and I am impressed. Generalization is not fair to them.

*coughx*

aiii gotta learn so many new songs!!!!

Dunno why so many Japanese songs this time. Don't find it fanciful tho.
(Sorry la the owner of this blog is no fond of Japan. Not anything Japanese please. Although their sushi and chawanmushi is delicious and they are generally polite... but I still don't like them.)

Madness: Episode 2
Oh well... Guess I am getting crazier each day

1. Went for NUS Choir auditions on Tuesday evening.

2. Received an SMS yesterday telling me that I got in and got posted to Tenor 2.

Erm... Tenor 2... it seems that my voice has cracked again over the past few years?

Or I happened to use my lower voice that day?

But surely I cannot be a Bass la... Hahaha.... coz no balls mah

Anyway, another dilemma... To join or not to join? Seriously I doubt my own commitment since the practice is like 6 hours a week?

Oh well...

Madness
Following a string of good news these days, I think I am a few steps nearer towards craziness and insanity.

First of all, I bidded for the sixth module for this semester. It was meant to be an anyhow-bidding because I just put down 1 point. And a few hours later I received from my email, that I was successfully allocated that module.

Now comes the dilemma. Shall I keep it? I was pretty firm in the beginning in keeping only 5 modules for this Semester. But now... haiz... Have to decide between the quality of my CAP and getting things done quickly. Always face such situations. As a Libra I am always indecisive. But as a Rat, once I made my decisions I will never give it up unless I admit that it was a wrong choice.

Anyway... there's this another good news. Something which I have been longing for since my admission into NUS:

I got an offer as an exchange student to Germany!

Finally after all these years, I can get out of Singapore!
Oh well, just want some time to breathe and refresh myself as I experience the life of what is called overseas. Too bad Singapore is not really overseas to me afterall. No offence to Singaporeans yah if you see this. :)

Anyway, as it is a student exchange programme, so a lot of paper work will be involved, including application to the posted universities, and worst of all, another round of Module Mapping! Oh my goodness... it nearly drove me up the Petronas Twin Tower Wall last time i did Module Mapping..

Not again!!!

Another issue driving me will be Amplitude... aih dun feel like elaborating here... loooong story...

anyway, hungry liao. Dinner time!

New Semester, Portuguese Wedding Dinner, Interview for SEP
Its been many rounds of 24 hours since the last blog.
So many things in my mind now..
Well well I should narrate in chronological order to avoid unnecessary confusions

Ok first of all
Attended my cousin's wedding in Melaka last weekend
It was a very special wedding ceremony as my new cousin-in-law is a Serani
Serani are descendants of Portuguese who settled down in Melaka during their occupation and the locals.
I think they can still speak some Portuguese...
Anyway, they have a very different customs compared to Chinese in wedding
Went over and take a look
Its really fun!
The dinner was a buffet style dinner...
quite nice lah the food
but dunno why... the next day 5 guys including me had thunderstorms...
the thunderstorms struck me 4 times in a single day
hmmm

ok ok nevermind...
haha...
went for an interview for SEP today
SEP is Student Exchange Programme
IT was like hmm super fast...
just a few questions
but the last sentence from the interviewer was
"I dont think we have problems giving u a place of your choice"
What does it suppose to mean?
hmmmmm

some things to ponder
but i shall not ponder much
muahaha

Sad?
Yes I am sad now
5 weeks of holidays
gone in a slip of moment

and a new semester starts
mercilessly

Yes I am sad now
no one cares
no one cares about a performance
that I care

Why do I care anyway?
Am I too serious?
I think I am stupid
but heck
I am stupid indeed
I always do stupid things

Whatever.

I just want to do what I want to do
and what I like

Comments?
Go ahead
I sincerely thank you for your honesty
Just don't fucking give me discouraging comments
when you are also supposedly equally responsible
and thanks a lot
if you are not involved
and want to encourage me
I will try my best
not to disappoint you.

New Year New Hope?
Hopefully
The Gregorian new year has just begun
Everyone around me seems to be excited
with this new year
With new year brings new hope?

Well, I wish it to be so for all the rest of you
But for me
I know it is going to be "very challenging"
At least, for the frist few weeks of the new semester

Those who know what my CCA in Hall is
would understand what I am talking about
Perfectly

I could foresee
myself being the centre
where all critiques are directed
as though I am the person responsible for everything

I could foresee
blames casted on me
for things that should supposedly be a teamwork

I could foresee
things will not go as smoothly as I have previously thought

Am I too pessimistic?
Am I worrying too much?
Seriously, am I too serious in taking up jobs?
Why must I face all these now?
Time to learn before I face more in work?

Sigh...
Wish to cry for help
But I know
deeply in my heart
that no matter what
I have to face and go through this

Alone

Time to grow up?
Whatever... as many pple would say
21 years old liao

Rite?
